Mindfulness training is suitable to be delivered online and in person
We teach 3 different courses, MBSR/MBCT*, Breathworks Mindfulness for Health Course for those with pain/health conditions and Mindful Self Compassion Courses.
Those who have completed a course in mindfulness say they have:

There are up to 12 people in a course group. There may be slightly larger numbers in an online course.
The course has 8 x 2-2.5hour sessions and includes:
- Group discussion and teaching
- Simple but effective ways to bring mindfulness into your life
- Guided mindful meditations (non-religious)
- Gentle mindful movement
- Evidence from research on mindfulness
An important part of the course is the daily home practice. Online courses are delivered via Zoom.

MINDFULNESS ONLINE COURSE FOR THOSE WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS- Free course funded by MS Society
Come and join an award-winning 8 week Breathworks Mindfulness for Health course that will give you tools and skills to live well with your MS.
What will I learn?
- Mindfulness and compassion skills in your daily life
- How to meditate
- Transformative breath and body awareness to release tension and relax
- Supportive gentle mindful movement practices, (suitable for those with reduced mobility)
- How to live well with pain, fatigue and other symptoms
- To live in the present moment
- How to take pleasure in small everyday things
- Pacing and how to break boom/bust cycles

What does the course involve?
8 x 2.5 hour lessons or if there are restrictions due to Covid, the course will be taught on zoom. Lessons include teaching, class discussion, guided meditations (non-religious) and will have a tea/coffee break.
Daily home practice -20mins to follow a recorded meditation
There will be 6-14 people on the course and a supportive environment in which to learn.

MINDFUL SELF-COMPASSION ONLINE ZOOM COURSE
Time: Wednesday mornings 9.45am-12.30 on zoom.
Dates: 27 April, 4, 11, 18, 25 May, half term 8, 15, 22, 29 June
There is now a great deal of research to show that if we are self-compassionate we are more emotionally resilient, suffer less from stress, anxiety and depression, maintain healthy habits such as diet and exercise and have more satisfying personal relationships.
Based on the groundbreaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of psychotherapist Christopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable us to respond to difficult moments in our lives with kindness, care and understanding using mindfulness and self compassion.
The MSC course is a 9 week online zoom course, starting on Wednesday mornings in April.
If you’re interested in attending this course but cannot make Wednesday mornings please email me to register an interest as I will be looking to run this course at other times depending on demand. You do not need to have done a previous mindfulness course to take part.
The course will explore how to
- stop being so hard on yourself
- handle difficult emotions with greater ease
- motivate yourself with encouragement rather than criticism
- transform difficult relationships, both old and new
- become your own best teacher
- manage caregiver fatigue and more…..

*MBSR was originally developed by Professor Jon Kabat-Zinn, University of Massachusetts to help people manage the stress of long-term health conditions, but it’s now used very widely to help anyone reduce ‘everyday life’ stress and anxiety and live life more fully.)
*MBCT is similar to MBSR but was developed by Professor Mark Williams from Oxford University, Segal and Teasdale and includes elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and is suitable for those with depression

Mindfulness Practice Group
This is a group set up for those who have completed an 8 week course who find it helpful to meet once a month to keep their mindfulness practice alive. This group is open to those who have completed a mindfulness course with Claire, Diana or another mindfulness teacher. The group meets monthly on a Monday morning 11.00am-12.30. Half the sessions are on zoom and the other half at The Space, Shamley Green, Surrey. There is guided practice, discussion, a theme for each session and time to talk things over.
